Presentation Description: Making a difference and maximizing impact is a primary concern for many corporate buyers of renewable energy. But how are these corporates defining impact and what can energy suppliers do in preparation for how the definition may change over time?
Going beyond the often misunderstood idea of “additionality”, this poster explores the different renewable energy procurement strategies as they relate to impact, including: preferring generation local to load, preferring generation causing maximum avoided emissions (by location or time of generation), committing to long-term contracts, supporting utility green tariffs, matching time of generation to load, and aggregating PPAs.
Michelle McGinty will be presenting this poster, representing the nonprofit Center for Resource Solutions. CRS administers the Green-e® Certification program for voluntary renewable energy products.
