The members of the National Child Protection Task Force (NCPTF) have conducted hundreds of cyber-focused investigations including countless investigations involving missing children. While investigating and providing assistance in these cases, the NCPTF has developed some strategies based on repeated exposure and lessons learned that will provide a template for conducting these types of investigations. This workshop will share using cyber tools and techniques to help locate missing and exploited children while using mapping and analysis, open source intelligence (OSINT), social media investigations (SMI), and location-based data including pattern of life analysis. This workshop will only be recorded and available On-Demand from August 10, 2020 until December 31, 2020.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will discuss police culture in response to runaway and missing/exploited child investigations.
