This presentation emphasizes the importance of the MDT working together from the outcry statement to the conclusion of the case. Considerations of the effects of trauma on child victims, their parents and the family, as well as MDT members will be discussed. The presenter will discuss why uUnderstanding the impact of trauma on MDT members and conflict resolution are critical in the MDT approach. Attendees will learn how to recognize and address these concerns when handling child abuse cases and in their interactions with constituents. During the workshop, participants will discuss; trauma, its impact on children and families, and the professionals who serve them, how to incorporate the knowledge of the impact of trauma in the investigative process, and the importance of advocacy throughout the investigative process and beyond.
