This case study will discuss the investigation and prosecution of Mark Retterath. What started out as a delayed reporting sexual abuse case later turned into an attempted murder of the victim in a plot taken right from the television show, Breaking Bad. Attendees will be taken from day one of the investigation, through the abrupt turn of events when the suspect's plot to kill his victim was revealed, to the subsequent follow-up investigation and prosecution. The presenter will discuss both the typical, and not so typical, issues confronted in this case, with takeaways to apply to the attendees' own investigations and prosecutions of sexual abuse investigations. This workshop will only be recorded and available On-Demand from August 10, 2020 until December 31, 2020.
