Lauren Herbert is a Project Specialist in the Exploited Children Division (ECD) at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Currently, she liaises with NCMEC’s Technology Department to improve internal ECD databases, technical applications for law enforcement, and platforms utilized by Electronic Service Providers. She also collaborates with NCMEC’s partners on technology projects, which support NCMEC’s mission. Lauren joined NCMEC in 2013. During her career, she has handled thousands of CyberTipline reports, which resulted in numerous arrests of child sexual offenders. She has provided technical assistance and training to law enforcement around the world on cases of child sexual exploitation. She has participated in various law enforcement investigative training programs on high technology crimes and online child sexual exploitation.
