This presentation will look at the widespread and serious negative effects exposure to child sexual exploitation and abuse materials can have on professionals. Exposed individuals will learn how to recognize and cope with challenges, before they become severe or permanent. ‘Wellness’ will be the main focus, including acknowledging negative effects of chronic exposure to traumatic material and building resiliency to cope with the stress your job entails. Attendees will be introduced to the SHIFT program, learn about and normalize vicarious trauma, understand and acknowledge the negative effects of chronic traumatic exposure, and learn tools and techniques to support their own resilience and wellness. This workshop will also serve to educate a diverse audience about the true nature and widespread problem of child sexual exploitation and abuse and the far reaching effects on anyone who comes into contact with the involved parties, images and materials relating such crimes against children. This workshop will only be recorded and available On-Demand from August 10, 2020 until December 31, 2020.
