Due to the nature of child abuse, many of the cases that law enforcement and prosecutors are presented with have limited evidence. This workshop will explore how to effectively investigate and prosecute these cases to achieve successful outcomes. Topics will include creative corroboration, the use of that corroboration to drive additional investigation, presenting non-abuse related corroboration at trial to prove the charges, and the effective use of expert witnesses at trial to demonstrate that even with limited evidence, the charges can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. The workshop will also explore effective ways to present limited evidence cases at trial to achieve a just outcome.
