The NCAC Training Center is housed at the National Children’s Advocacy Center in Huntsville, Alabama. A part of the first Children’s Advocacy Center and the creation of the Multidisciplinary Team model, the NCAC Training Center has revolutionized the international response to child sexual abuse.
The NCAC Training Center offers a wide array of training opportunities, including customized trainings. Every training is now offered in a virtual format to provide a safe and socially responsible training amid the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes the 37th International Symposium on Child Abuse scheduled for March 22-25, 2021.
In addition to trainings, the NCAC Training Center offers ongoing support and mentoring for child abuse response professionals. These programs include Mentoring and Consultation Groups for Child Forensic Interviewers, Building Forensic Interviewing Skills Online Training, Consultation Group for Supervisors of Forensic Interviewers, Takeaway Tuesday, and Prosecutor’s Brief.
The NCAC Training Center created the world’s largest online library devoted to child maltreatment research. The Child Abuse Library Online, or CALiO, houses more than 4,600 open-access publications and subscription access to peer-reviewed journals featuring articles from the top researchers in the child abuse response field. In addition to CALiO, the NCAC Training Center built and maintains the NCACvtc, an online platform offering over 100 free trainings.
Finally, the NCAC Training Center has been instrumental in the development of Children’s Advocacy Centers in 35 countries and continues to offer advice, consultation, and trainings to government and non-governmental agencies abroad.
