Highly experienced instructors have been selected to present lectures on the equipment required to perform MIS procedures, principles of access to the abdominal cavity, modalities for hemostasis as well as the technical aspects of a variety of minimally invasive procedures. Techniques discussed in the lecture component and/or subsequently practiced in the two wetlabs will include laparoscopic or laparoscopic-assisted ovariohysterectomy/ovariectomy, gastropexy, cystotomy, splenectomy, cryptorchidectomy, abdominal organ biopsy as well as laparoscopic-assisted intestinal resection. Presentations covering the important topics of sterilization, lay staff training and the business side of incorporating MIS into your practice will also be featured.
