My name is Charles Herndon, BA, BS and I am a research fellow at The Turek Clinic in Beverly Hills, CA. In 2018 I graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelor of Art's degree in Chinese and a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience. This Summer, I will be entering my first year of medical school.
My research interests include male fertility, evidence-based alternative medicine, enteric bacteria, and functional gastrointestinal diseases. I currently coordinate a clinical trial of herbal medicine with Yo San University in Los Angeles, CA. From 2016 to 2019, I was a research associate at National Yang-Ming University in Taipei, Taiwan where I conducted a rodent-based electrical acupuncture research project. From 2015 to 2016, I was a research student at UCLA's Center for the Neurobiology of Stress and Resilience where I conducted a bilingual study on the differences in English and Chinese language's perception of gastrointestinal disease.
