Keith Ashcraft, Ph.D. is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Ashcraft received his B.S. in biology at Stephen F. Austin State University. He then entered his graduate studies at UT Health San Antonio where he received his Ph.D in 2017 under the guidance of Dr. Robin Leach. Dr. Ashcraft is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Urology department under the mentorship of Dr. Dean Bacich, where he is studying the role of the essential vitamin B9 (folate) in contributing to aggressive prostate and kidney cancer. This research hopes to inform the nutritional decisions of those who have or are at a higher risk of these cancers. Dr. Ashcraft is currently in his third year as a SABER*IRACDA scholar where he is continuing high impact research while also gaining valuable pedagogical tools to better communicate scientific concepts and become a more effective educator and mentor.
