Dr. Daisuke Gotoh is currently a Research Scholar at the Neurourology laboratory in Department of Urology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, PA. He received M.D. from Shiga University of Medical Science, Shiga, Japan (2002-2008) and Ph.D. from Nara Medical University Graduate School, Nara, Japan (2014-2018). After completing his residency at Nara Medical University Hospital, Nara, Japan (2008-2010) and Dept. of Urology, Nara Medical University, Nara, Japan (2010-2011), he worked as a staff Urologist at Dept. of Urology, Osaka Gyoumeikan Hospital, Osaka, Japan (2011-2012), at Dept. of Urology, Matsusaka Central General Hospital, Mie, Japan (2012-2013), at Dept. of Urology, Nara Medical University, Nara, Japan (2013-2014) and at Dept. of Urology, Hirao Hospital, Nara, Japan (2014-2018). Then, Dr. Gotoh was appointed as Assistant Professor at Dept. of Urology, Nara Medical University, Nara, Japan in 2018. Since fall, 2018, he joined the Neurourology laboratory in the University of Pittsburgh to participate in basic research projects on lower urinary tract dysfunction using various animal models of human diseases such as spinal cord injury and diabetes mellitus. Dr. Gotoh also holds several medical licensures such as Medical License/Japan (2008), Board-Certified Urologist from the Japanese Urological Association (2014), Fellow of the Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy (2015), General Clinical Oncologist of the Japanese Board of Cancer Therapy (2016), Board-Certified Infection Control Doctor (2017) and Medical Specialist of the Japanese Society for Sexual Medicine (2018).
