Mr Bob Yang MRCS MBBS BSc (Hons)
Bob Yang is a Urology Specialist Registrar in the Wessex region. In 2018 he was ranked in the top five trainees in the United Kingdom in national selections.
He graduated from Imperial College London with a First Class Honors degree. He gained a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Imperial College Medical School and was awarded five distinctions prizes for outstanding examination performance in surgery, medicine, pharmacology, psychiatry and clinical practice.
He was also awarded the Swinford Evans and the Evelyn de Rothchild Award; two prestigious Imperial College School of Medicine Prizes for academic excellence. He was granted the Enid Linder Foundation grant for outstanding contribution to Imperial College Medical School.
Bob Yang has been awarded the International ASiT Presidents Gold medal and the Oxford Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences South Central Joe Smith Memorial Prize; two prestigious first place prizes for excellence in research. He has also been awarded the best presentation prize at the international British Association of Urology Surgeons meeting.
For his excellence in teaching, Bob Yang was appointed as a Teaching Associate at Oxford University Medical School Green Templeton College, running multiple teaching sessions and national courses for Oxford University. He gained the “Teacher of the Year 2017” award for his outstanding teaching and contribution to Oxford University Medical School.
Outside of work Bob Yang previously captained the university badminton team, leading them to 2 years of successive promotions in the University League. He is also an accomplished violinist and is a proficient skier and snowboarder.
