With over 25 years in quality, Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt Jeff Veyera, Senior Member of ASQ and Chair-Elect of the Team and Workplace Excellence Forum, has served on the frontlines of companies at the most critical juncture of their existence: GE during outsourcing and Jack Welch's retirement, Black & Decker in its first forays into global sourcing, Bank of America during the financial crisis, Owens & Minor during the disruption of the medical supplies distribution business. After coaching and leading hundreds of projects and saving companies millions of dollars, he realized that the number one determinant of the success of process improvement wasn't leadership buy-in, resources, methodological rigor, or even the coach's skill, but rather the company's culture. This crucial insight led to the publishing of "Culture Is Everything" by ASQ's Quality Press in February 2020. Veyera is convinced that Quality 4.0 will rise and fall based on how it addresses culture, which he defines as "the manner by which an organization's values are communicated, understood, and lived by its members."
