Jim is an Academician in the International Academy for Quality and a Fellow of ASQ. He holds certifications as a Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from the George Group. He worked as director of strategic business analytics for Anheuser Busch and director of technology in corporate quality assurance for Reynolds Metals, where he created a nondestructive testing system for aluminum plate for the Space Shuttle. He is co-author on 7 international and 2 domestic patents for advanced analytics. His most recent work prior to becoming an independent trainer and consultant was with SAS Institute as a senior data scientist, where he focused on Big Data, predictive modeling including IoT and connected devices. Jim holds bachelor of science and master of science degrees in statistics. He has been invited to lecture at Universities in Qatar, Portugal and Taiwan. He has been a three-time keynote at the China International Industry Fair for the Shanghai Academy for Quality Management. Duarte has also published articles on quality and Data Science both in the United States and internationally. His most recent publications on Data Science can be seen in Forbes and ASQ’s Software Quality Journal.
