Historically, every industrial revolution had profound impact for the management practices, including quality management. The 4th industrial revolution, or Industry 4.0, shall not be an exception. This is the exact reason why Quality 4.0 was initiated and is getting more attention. Industry 4.0 is based on several revolutionary technologies: Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Artificial intelligence and so on. It is creating very different customers, product development and production systems, and new super-connected, nimble, digital, transparent, and traceable economic ecosystems.
The contemporary quality paradigm was created after the second industrial revolution, where organizations are huge and often hierarchical, data are scarce and in bundles and samples, business units are siloed and barely connected, and product development systems are mostly insulated to customers and many stakeholders. In this presentation, we will discuss the evolution trends of Quality 4.0 and how they align with the new industry revolution
