Presentation Description: Machine Learning tools and techniques offer an opportunity for LSS professionals to effectively deal with complex and big data sets. This presentation focuses on a large and ongoing home healthcare research project launched by a LSS MBB who conducted healthcare research with the help of machine learning analysis tools. This research focused on the analysis of a large real-time and historical home health care data base that reflects the efforts of home healthcare agency services to improve the Activities of Daily Life scores of its clients. This project transformed into a larger coordinated effort between a data provider, statisticians, machine learning analyst, data science researchers and clinical experts.
The presentation will clearly define the new techniques and sequential analysis steps required to bridge the gap between Six Sigma data analysis techniques and the advanced world of machine learning predictive modeling. Machine learning software applications do not require any expertise in coding from the user.
It will be shown how the combination of six sigma and machine learning analysis tools were used to identify the best tailored interventions and therapies for specific home healthcare patient groups in efforts to help patients stay independent and extend the best healthy years of their lives.
