Presentation Description: Many organizations attempting a lean transformation are unsuccessful in achieving lasting change by failing to address obstacles and pitfalls that are common regardless of industry. Transformational change not only requires addressing technology, machines, materials and information, but also the individuals who engage with and operate within the system. As Lean Six Sigma professionals, instructors, consultants, and agents of change, we will share lessons learned from working with more than a dozen organizations to plan and execute small- and large- scale lean transformations.
Attendees will be able to describe five obstacles and pitfalls that frequently surface during a lean transformation effort.
Attendees will be able to identify five elements critical to a successful lean transformation effort.
Attendees will be able to explain how failing to address the human aspect of change undermines a lean transformation effort.
Attendees will demonstrate an increased understanding of appropriate change management and risk management techniques.
