Monday, February 24, 2020
1:15 PM – 2:15 PM
Location: Salon CD
Presentation Description: A fundamental part of any Lean Deployment or Transformation is how Leader Standard Work (LSW) is understood, implemented and reinforced up and down the organization. Regardless of the way Lean is rolled out, it comes with a great deal of change for all involved. New habits are being formed. Old habits are being changed or replaced entirely. Leader Standard Work plays a vital role in ensuring these changes and new habits stick. Yet too often, LSW is misunderstood or not followed-through on as thoroughly as is required. This presentation will seek to clarify what is meant by Leader Standard Work and the role it plays in helping change stick. We will discuss why we have LSW and how to make it better. The speaker has a unique vantage point as he is both a quality professional as well as a business leader who is expected to help the lean transformation drive results for the organization. You will have a front-row seat to seeing Leader Standard Work in action at one of the largest financial services companies in the world.
Objective #1 is to clarify what is meant by Leader Standard Work.
Objective #2 is to explain to the audience why LSW is important in general, and why it is important to a change effort in particular.
Learning objective #3 is to share some personal examples of LSW in action in order to clarify the definitions and "the why" set forth in the first two objectives.
