Best of Lean and Six Sigma in the Digital Age
Concurrent Sessions (M01 - M06)
Presentation Description: It started with a short, 2-day process improvement event to improve product flow in a plant that manufactures many of the egg rolls in the U.S. grocery market. A year later, the company had grown by almost 50%, delivering 20 million more eggrolls per year with a new contract in a major grocery chain. The team started by looking for bottlenecks and reducing downtime, and it ended with deploying new packing equipment and an innovative new conveyor system to balance production line flow.
The Kaizen approach helped the team find an innovative solution and engaged everyone in believing that it could be done! In doing that, they all learned that Lean Six Sigma isn’t just about following the DMAIC steps. It’s also about finding a way to win. Together.
One Kaizen event; same people; same building; 20 million more egg rolls!
