T09 - Lean IT: The Secret Sauce for IT Transformation

Presentation Description: This presentation will provide an overview of the origins of Agile and then will detail how elements of the Lean Six Sigma management system can work in conjunction with it. Specific examples from the insurance and software industry will be presented to demonstrate how the merged system produces superior results for the customer. Attendees will be introduced to the key elements of creating leader standard work, how to get started on a visual management system, and standard work for a daily huddle within an IT environment. Gemba visits will be discussed as a means to reinforce the Lean management system on the front line. Regardless of industry, or position, the attendee will walk away with practical applications for improving the culture of the organization that will impact the quality, speed, and customer satisfaction.
