Since 2004, I´ve been working on different aspects related to light regulation of plant growth and development -or photomorphogenesis- with particular emphasis on the integration of different light signals. In our group, we study the relationship between the complexity of the signalling networks and the complexity generated under fluctuating environments. To study the relationship between signal and physiological response, under conditions in which natural fluctuations occurs, we use different approaches. These consist of the study of physiological response patterns in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. We use techniques of molecular biology, analysis of the transcriptome, genetics and cell biology in combination with natural environment or light treatments that simulate selected aspects of the environment experienced by plants.
