Principal Investigator
Shanghai Center for Plant Stress Biology
Pengcheng Wang (1978) is a Principal Investigator at the Shanghai Center for Plant Stress Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his Ph.D. in Plant Biology from Henan University, China, in 2011. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher from 2011 to 2017 in Dr. Jian-Kang Zhu's lab at Purdue University, USA. He started his own research group at Shanghai Center for Plant Stress Biology since 2017. His group is working on understanding the phospho-regulation of plant responses to environmental stresses, especially drought and osmotic stress. He is also interested in setting up new proteomics methods to study the cross-talk between phosphorylation and other PTMs in plant stress responses. His research group aims to identify novel components in abiotic stress signaling pathways and to improve stress tolerance in agricultural crops harnessing these novel biological discoveries.
