Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center, Weslaco, TX, USA
Manikandan Ramasamy received his PhD at Center for Plant Molecular Biology from the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in 2015, India and worked on genetic engineering of rice for biotic stress tolerant. In 2016, he joined at Prof. Mandadi lab in Texas A&M University as a postdoctoral researcher to utilize novel disease resistance genes to confer tolerance to Candidatus Liberibacter spp. in potato and citrus using biotechnology tools such as CRISPR/Cas9. As a plant molecular biologist with 10 years of research experience in plant molecular biology, and a strong interest in basic and translational research for the development of biotic and abiotic stress tolerant plants.
