Wei Zhang received her Ph.D. in Plant Science from Sichuan University in 2016. From 2013 to 2015, she was a visiting Ph.D. student researching on Arabidopsis and Botrytis interaction at the Department of Plant Science, University of California, Davis. Since 2017, she was a Postdoc studying transcriptional regulation and chromatin dynamics of Magnaporthe oryzae, the causal agent of rice (Oryza sativa) blast, at the Department of Plant Pathology, Kansas State University. Her research focuses on understanding the complexity of the plant and microbe interaction to improve crop disease resistance and nutritional content. She integrates approaches from quantitative genetics, epigenomics, biochemistry, systems biology, and plant pathology to fully understand an entire pathosystem. In addition to her research work, she also serves as an Assistant Feature Editor for the Plant Physiology journal in 2020.
