Chelina Odbert is Co-founder and Director of Kounkuey Design Initiative (KDI)--an award-winning Landscape, Planning, and Community Development practice that brings good, community-engaged design to places where it is not often found, and connects localized design interventions to large-scale policy change.
An urban planner by training, Chelina’s expertise covers a range of topics from participatory planning to gender-inclusive design. Her work has been recognized by a range of notable institutions including Ashoka Changemakers and the Aspen Institute. In 2019, Chelina was named a Knight Foundation Public Space Fellow. She has held teaching appointments at UCLA and her alma mater, Harvard GSD.
