97 - The Application of 6S Management in Cardiosurgery Department
Description: The Application of 6S management in Cardiac Surgery DepartmentClinical issue:Cardiac surgery is a kind of delicate and complicate operation which needs a lot of medical instruments. As different doctors have different operating habits, adding medical instruments are often encountered during the surgery. If the required instruments cannot be found quickly and accurately, the operation time will be prolonged due to unnecessary waiting. Therefore, it is an urgent problem to be solved to manage the cardiac surgery department efficiently and reduce the time and times of the nurse's getting instruments.Description of team:The members of our team come from the operation department of Fuwai Central China Cardiovascular Hospital. Two of the team members is the head nurse of the operation department, and the others are professional nurses have been working in Cardiac surgery department for a long time.Preparation and planning:6S is a scientific and effective organization management method originated from Japan, including SEIRI, SEITON, SEISO, SEIKETSU, SHITSUKE and SECURITY. We plan to apply 6S to the management of cardiac surgery department: 1. Sort out the items in the operation department and remove the items that are not used frequently; Store goods in fixed location and quantity according to the principle of frequency and shortest route; Draw the plan figure according to the above, and make all the operation rooms follow this procedure. 2. Use labels of different colors to identify the items in auxiliary rooms and consumables storehouses, and store them in fixed locations; Set up the archiving table to improve the storage efficiency. 3. Provide massage chairs, cotton-padded clothes in the living area and paste encouraging signs in the appropriate area in order to meet the physical and mental health needs of medical staff.
