281 - Diphallia, Double Bladder, and Two Hemiscrotums: A Case Study
Description: This is a case study of a 3-year old 46XY male presenting with true diphallia, a rare urogenital congenital anomaly. This child was born with two fully formed and functioning (urination and erection) phalluses, which occurs in 1 out of 5-6 million live births. Each phallus contained two corpora cavernosa bodies and one corpus spongiosum with an orthotopic urethra. The child also had 2 bladders and 2 hemiscrotum, each containing a testis. Surgery was performed during a surgical mission in Ecuador where a penectomy was performed, the two bladders were combined (cytoplasty), and one hemiscrotum was lowered on his buttocks for better alignment.
