331 - Surgical Site Infection in Endometrial Cancer: Case Study
Description: The aim of this project was to translate evidence-based guidelines into practice to reduce surgical site infection (SSI) after hysterectomy for endometrial cancer (EC) in private practice. Immersion into the literature, extensive clinical immersion, and adoption of evidence-based guidelines (EBG) facilitated an integrated strategy for this vulnerable population. The selected case study illuminates the typical characteristics of EC (obesity, diabetes, hypertension) and presents realistic comorbid features such as age, hydatidiform molar pregnancy, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and fiscal vulnerability. Each element contributed to the evolution and proposed integration of multiple EBGs to meet the needs of this complex population. The correlation with the Essentials of DNP was evident throughout the scholarly process
