My name is Fay C.Johnson BSN,RN,CNOR.I received my BSN at Oregon Health Sciences University in 1983.I have worked in the Operating room at Providence St.Vincent Hospital for 39 years.I have held numerous offices in our local Columbia River A.O.R.N. chapter.In 2010, our chapter won the Chapter of the Year Award.I have authored several articles for the AORN journal.One of them was SWITCH for Safety:Perioperative Hand-off Tools.I was a co -speaker at the A.O.R.N.Congress in 2017 on this topic.I have taken several posters to the National A.O.R.N. congress including ''Designing an OR Tour for Perioperative Nurse Week, and CNOR:The Value of Certification For Perioperative nurses.I organized an annual tour of the O.R. for Perioperative Nurse week for 10 years,taught a yearly high school health career class about O.R. Nursing and mentored high school health career students in the Operating room.In 2019,I received the Go Clear Silver award for cautery smoke reduction for my Hospital.
