Dr. Kristina Petersen is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University. She has PhD in Nutrition from the University of South Australia and is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (Australia). She completed post doctoral training at The George Institute for Global Health, Australia and Penn State University. Dr. Petersen's research focuses on the role of foods, bioactives, and dietary patterns in the prevention of cardiometabolic diseases including cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. She has conducted numerous human clinical trials investigating how nutrition modulates risk of cardiometabolic diseases. Dr. Petersen has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers in this area.
