Dr. Marc Pignitter received his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Graz in Austria. He was a visiting research fellow at the Free Radical Research Center at the Department of Biophysics at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, USA and a visiting scientist at the Metabolomics South Australia in Adelaide. Currently, he works as an Assistant Professor and group leader at the Department of Physiological Chemistry at the University of Vienna, Austria. Recently, he received the H. P. Kaufmann-Prize of the German Society for Fat Science and the competitive Australia Awards–Endeavour Fellowship. His research focuses on the identification of process-induced formation of bioactive lipid oxidation products in foods. Dr. Marc Pignitter has in-depth experiences in chemical characterization of bioactive compounds and its metabolites in food and biological samples as documented by more than 50 publications.
