Health and Nutrition

Many agro-processors in the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region don’t have ready access to research, development, and implementation science expertise, state-of-the-art equipment or skilled labor available to their US and European counterparts. Nonetheless, agro-processing, especially of soybeans, is thriving in many countries in the SSA region. Working with partners CNFA (Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture) and AOCS, SIL is part of a pilot program bringing U.S.A. industry volunteers in agro processing together with soy processors in SSA to work on specific challenges, as identified by SSA processors. Scalable solutions in nutrition are possible when processors are enabled to bring delicious, inexpensive, nutritious, environmentally and culturally sustainable and safe, or DINES foods to consumers. We are very enthused to be involved in this new endeavor.
