Rototherm® D-
The feed solids are charged to one end of the Rototherm® D by a cycling airlock. The horizontal shell
and the unique design og the rotor are heated with steam, oil or water. The process is operated under
JET-VAC® Technologies vacuum to minimize the drying temperature. The solids are agitated, at low
speed, by the mixing elements on the rotor blade. These help to slowly and continuously guide the
product towards the discharge end of the machine. An adjustable weir, at the discharge end, keeps the
fill level in the dryer between 25% and 75% full. The residence time in the dryer is controlled by
adjusting the height of the weir or by changing the feed rate.
