As the rate of scientific research continues to grow exponentially, people increasingly expect to consume information in shorter formats, which take less of their limited time. Thus, researchers must be able to tell their story in a concise manner that motivates an audience to seek more information about the project.

In this high-energy session, authors will present their research findings using a rapid-presentation format — effectively serving as an advertisement for their posters that contain detailed information. Questions from the moderator and audience will simulate those from funding agencies, customers, and executive decision-makers that researchers may face in a practice environment.

The most-highly rated abstracts submitted to the Nexus 2020 Virtual affecting managed care pharmacy practice are selected for this prestigious podium session.

Learning Objectives: :

At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

Determine if newly initiating sacubitril-valsartan results in a lower total cost of care in the year after initiation compared to the prior year in a commercially-insured population age 18 to 65 with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and with two years of continuous enrollment
Interpret the influence of certain social determinants of health on adherence to annual influenza vaccination in American adults.
Characterize U.S. Government funding decisions for COVID-19 vaccines and therapeutics and compare attributes of awarded programs
Describe the current structure of performance-based pharmacy payment models and identify contextual and motivational influences needed to implement these models
