Mary Choy, PharmD, BCGP, FASHP is director of pharmacy practice at the New York State Council of Health-System Pharmacists. She is the author of the award-winning book, Healthcare Heroes: The Medical Careers Guide, that features 28 essays to help kids demystify the diverse group of healthcare professionals who comprise the modern healthcare team and is referred to as “a young adult’s personal career fair.” Dr. Choy has held positions in academia, clinical pharmacy, industry, and leadership positions in associations and leads the charge to advance the profession of pharmacy practice. She utilizes over 15 years of healthcare experience to engage all stakeholders to optimize healthcare outcomes and continuously improve quality of care. She is widely published and speaks at numerous healthcare forums and conferences.
Dr. Choy has received some of the most prestigious national awards for demonstrating exceptional leadership, achieving excellence and exemplary service in improving healthcare. She is the recipient of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists-Association of Black Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP-ABHP) Joint Leadership Award, the New York City Society of Health-System Pharmacists Harold Neham Award, the ASHP Fellowship, the American Pharmacists Association Immunization Champion Award, the New York State Assembly Citation, and the New York City Council Citation. She has appeared on the NBC Today Show, SinoVision, PBS, ASHP TV, and ‘Pharmacists: Unsung Heroes’ documentary. She is featured in newspapers, World Journal, SingTao, and Epoch Times.
