Sharon M. Montgomery, BSPharm, MA, RPh is a Principal Advisor at Confidio, a technology-enabled pharmacy benefits consulting firm focused on optimizing the value of pharmacy benefits for its clients through transparency, accountability and advanced data analytics paired with deep insider expertise. As an advisor, Sharon focuses her time between national account business development and consulting with Confidio's most strategic business partners and clients. Her area of expertise includes partnering with clients to develop pharmacy benefits strategies tailored to suit their individualized healthcare benefit goals. Sharon has over thirty years of managed health care experience. During her career, she has held clinical, consulting and leadership positions having worked for and with companies that include health plans, hospital systems, pharmacy benefit managers, pharmaceutical manufacturers home health care companies and retail pharmacy. Her experience includes pharmacy consultant for a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company, National Vice President for Public Sector Pharmacy Development and Client Management for a national health insurance company and National Director for Managed Care Sales in addition to Marketing Business Director for a pharmaceutical manufacturer.
Prior to her current role at Confidio, Sharon worked at OptumRx, a pharmacy care services company, where she was Vice President of Consultant Relations. She acted as a relationship manager for national consulting and brokerage firms at the executive leadership level, serving as the strategic lead contact for OptumRx. A critical aspect of her position comprised creating and maintaining valued partnerships, in addition to driving and implementing collaborative strategies for brand awareness. Sharon is an active member of AMCP and is one of the Founders of the Georgia AMCP Affiliate. Her association participation also includes Community Pharmacy Advisory Council, Past President of the Georgia Affiliate, Organizational Affairs Committee, and Nominations Committee. Sharon received her B.S. degree in Pharmacy from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and a Masters’ degree in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University.
