Executive Director, OCLC Research Library Partnership
OCLC
As part of its mission to examine the challenges and issues currently facing libraries and the profession’s new and emerging areas, OCLC Research has established a continuous cycle of active engagement with institutions to discover research needs, explore topics in collaboration with partners, and develop resources that can be shared among and adapted by libraries. Examples of this cycle in action show how libraries are engaging with data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence; how public libraries are responding to the opioid crisis; libraries’ interest and activity in open content; and a linked data pilot project that seeks to improve CONTENTdm for building, preserving, and showcasing unique digital collections.
