Exhibitor Showcase: New York Public Library's Free Online Early Literacy Training

Learn how to access and utilize the New York Public Library's early literacy training “Raising the Bar.” Generously supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, "Raising the Bar" is a four-part training series that connects early childhood development to public librarianship. Previous iterations of this training were only available as a facilitator resource, whereas this new course is a comprehensive and self-paced learning experience for all library staff. This presentation will teach you how to use our facilitator resources and access this new course. Developed for librarians of all experience levels, this training can be completed at any time and in any place. Each of the four modules builds upon previous content, and contain foundational knowledge about Early Literacy in public libraries, storytime strategies for children’s specialists, promoting family literacy and engagement, and partnering with early childhood programs in the community.
