In the past month, communities across the nation have come together to demand a more racially just society. The Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE) is a national network of government agencies, including public libraries, working to achieve racial equity and advance opportunities for all. Panelists from GARE, public libraries, and LIS education will facilitate a conversation covering:
• Differences between individual, institutional, and structural racism
• How to identify barriers rooted in race in your own institutions
• How to engage with other agencies to work collectively towards reducing barriers
