Maine Veterans Home
Maureen Carland is the administrator at the Maine Veterans Home-Scarborough. Responsible for all functions of 120 SNF and 30 AL. A Multilevel Nursing Home Administrator and a Registered Nurse with 25 years’ experience in health care. She embodies the person-centered culture change initiative, attaining the first CARF Person-Centered Long Term Care accredited in Maine, as well as the first Gold Quality award in Maine. She has led the formation of resident empowerment groups, family forums and employee teams to engage in decision making. She is well versed in QAPI and Baldridge principles. She serves as a master examiner for AHCA.
She has vast experience working in the highly regulated long term care setting. She has been responsible for state, federal, JCAHO and CARF surveys.
A founding member of the Maine Local Area Network of Excellence, the state based stakeholder group for the Advancing Excellence Campaign. She is a member of the American College of Health Care Administrators.
Maureen holds a MA in Leadership Studies as well as a BS in Nursing.
