Abstract: In 2019, Sony launched 360 Reality Audio, which provides a new music experience using object-based spatial audio technology. Object-based audio contains information on time-varying object loudness and location and audio data, which are transmitted to playback devices, and then rendered and played back. It was reported in [1] that object locations affect subjective sound pressure perception depending on the direction of the sound source. In this e-brief, we present an approach for increasing sound quality by considering the loudness and location of objects. We performed a subjective listening test for three test items. The results indicated that two items had statistically significant differences in sound quality.
