This paper discusses the use of audio mixing in a VR Exposure Therapy setting. The created VR application uses a virtual choir to allow children with high-functioning autism to experience singing in a choir without having to be in a space which is uncomfortable for them.
We allow a child and psychologist to be present in the choir, with the psychologist having overall volume controls and the child being able to control their own voice. We discuss how volume parameters can help the child become more confident.
