Dental institutions face the challenge of standardizing the curriculum and ensuring that faculty are in compliance with cariology and operative concepts so that they can properly disseminate information to students. Standard methodology of in-house lectures, article readings and video recordings frequently are not effective and could possibly meet resistance. Like students, faculty may enjoy networking and interactive contests as incentive methods to learn. Definitive studies prove that crossword puzzles positively improve cognitive function. This presentation demonstrates how utilizing cariology, concept-themed crossword puzzles can provide alternative, creative methodology to achieve effective calibration, thus providing best teaching practices.
Learning Objectives:
Fabricate creative methods to teach cariology/operative and other dental terminology related to their teaching discipline at their own institutions.
Collaborate with faculty to allow for group learning and calibration.
Extrapolate and utilize same gaming methods to teach dental subjects to students.
