Students undoubtedly take diverse paths that lead to the discovery that they may consider academic dentistry as a career. It may be a unique interaction with faculty, interactions with other students or personal stories that put them on the path. In this 60 minute Short Talk session, presenters will take us on their path from dental student to our future academic leaders. Student participants will gain information to start or continue preparation for their own career in academic dentistry. Faculty participants will learn how faculty-student collaborations can establish academic leadership activities at their own school.
Learning Objectives:
Describe how self-discovery leads one’s pathway to academic dentistry.
Conduct student-faculty collaboration to establish academic leadership activities.
Participate in future ADEA activities to develop academic leadership.
