Saturday, March 14, 2020
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
CE: 1
With advances in dental technology and the evolution of big data analytics, the dental profession is becoming data-driven, predictive, pragmatic, precise and not only patient-centered, but also team-centered. This paradigm shift calls for two actions: 1) incorporating competencies on real-world data evidence and analytics, from knowledge to application, in advanced dental curricula to better prepare future generations of dental specialists, and 2) utilizing real-world data to enhance advanced dental residency programs’ effectiveness and efficiency. This presentation will discuss real-world data utilization in advanced dental education, such as data used to predict future patient flow and to understand graduates’ practice behaviors.
Learning Objectives:
Recognize the value of real-world data for the advancement of dental education, research and clinical care.
Describe how real-world data can enhance advanced dental residency programs’ performance and outcomes.
Apply real world data in advanced residency programs.
