Interprofessional practice and collaborative care are becoming the standard for person-centered care and value-based reimbursement taking center stage in the link between oral health and overall health, social determinants of health and access to care in this nation. The Health Professional Accreditors Collaborative (HPAC), which includes CODA, recently published guidance on quality IPE expected of accredited programs. These highly informative fast-paced sessions showcase multiple schools’ best practices and emerging pedagogy related to IPE in five minute presentations with two minutes of questions to spark ideas and networking for IPE initiatives and to collectively move dental education forward.
Learning Objectives:
Acquire current best practices and emerging pedagogy in interprofessional practice and education (IPE) to better prepare our graduates and address accreditation standards for IPE.
Communicate examples of interprofessional practice and education that address ADEA’s priorities of person-centered care, the link between oral health and overall health, social determinants of health and access to care.
Leverage the opportunity to share teaching and learning innovations, spark further conversation, network and develop teaching innovations related to IPE.
