Saturday, March 14, 2020
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
CE: 1
With the advent of the INBDE, it is imperative that students are consistently exposed to biomedical sciences throughout their four years of dental education. However, most dental institutions limit their biomedical curriculum to the first year. Beyond that, each dental school takes a different approach to reinforcing biomedical concepts and evaluating the students’ abilities to apply them to clinical cases. These series of short talks will offer insight into various tactics that institutions employ to uphold the relevance of biomedical sciences beyond the first year. Subsequent discussions could leverage this information to identify optimal strategies for enhancing INBDE preparation.
Learning Objectives:
Identify different approaches to reinforcing biomedical sciences beyond the first year.
Evaluate and compare the effectiveness of each of these approaches.
Implement the most appropriate approach into their school’s existing curricula.
