PA-110 - How Facilities Support the Transition to Advanced Dental Technologies
Monday, March 16, 2020
4:30 PM – 5:30 PM
CE: 1
As the introduction of new technologies continues to accelerate, dental schools must accommodate training in both relevant traditional techniques and technological trends such as AR/VR, robotic clinical procedures and digital dentistry. As schools consider their facilities' futures, they must decide where on the technology spectrum they plan to be. How does education reconcile statistics showing less than 20% of practices report using digital dentistry with the emerging technologies that will impact the future of practice? Physical environments providing both formal and informal learning spaces play a fundamental role in enabling these changes to happen in the short-term and in sustaining change.
Learning Objectives:
Apply a broader understanding of current and potential pedagogical trends in dental/clinical education from access to benchmarking and research internationally.
Develop strategic solutions to better assess design opportunities and optimize best value.
Demonstrate a better understanding of space allocation and flexible space when planning their dental school project.
