I-008 - The ADEA Student Diversity Leadership Program Part I Sponsored by The Procter & Gamble Company
Friday, March 13, 2020
7:30 AM – 7:30 PM
The Student Diversity Leadership Program (SDLP) brings together dental and allied dental students from across the United States and Canada in support of partnerships for action, dialogue, and collaboration within the scope of access, diversity, and inclusion in dental education. ADEA SDLP attendees participate in the development of leadership skills so that they can better serve as leaders of inclusive excellence within their dental school communities and allied dental programs, and to engage fully in a culturally competent and globally complex society.
Learning Objectives:
Encourage students to examine social determinants of health and discover their strengths as they lead through a social justice lens.
Students will tap into their inner strengths and develop insight into their own self-awareness as a means to use these strengths to promote access, diversity, inclusion, and equity in dental education and their communities.
Students will have an understanding of a social justice framework that can be used to promote awareness and call to action regarding issues of health equity, diversity, and inclusion.
